Genesis

Kendriya Vidyalaya Cossipore, which has emerged as a temple of education, was inaugurated on 5th September, 1983, on Teacher’s Day, at a place surrounded by trees and flowers, and filled with picturesque environment, in the residential complex of the Gun and Shell Factory, surrounded with Seven Tanks.
At first the school operated with single section from classes 1 to 7. By the Grace of God, it gradually grew in size to a three sections school during its journey of 40 years to reach the status of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Cossipore. It has gifted the country numerous patriotic Defense Personnels, Doctors, Engineers, National Defense Academy officers, Banking Employees, Players, Artists etc.
